Limon, Colorado where the Rocky Mountain Rocket split into two sections and followed the Smoky Hill trail into Denver and Colorado Springs. The Limon Depot has original equipment from the hey days of the fast passenger train, other artifacts from a bygone era and an operating N-scale layout representing the area. The Union Pacific still operates on the old Kansas Pacific line and about a dozen trains a day go through plus Kyle Railway operates on the old CRIP and terminates at Limon. There are trains to see plus the Diner will be open as will the other cars. (The Rock Island Line)
N-scale. HO-scale, Lionel and a garden RR will be operating. There will be drawings throughout the day for rides on various tourist railroads, free admissions to various museums plus RR models. On Saturday the Cafe car will be open serving cobbler and crisp. Sunday afternoon there will a season opening reception at the depot to kick off the year from 2-4pm.
